Discover Powwow - 3 days of beautiful culture, dance and music in Indian Country

Discover Powwow at WIND RIVER

June 21-25th, 2018

Imagine yourself spending three days in beautiful Wind River Country of Wyoming. You will stay at the one of the tribe's comfortable hotels and explore the reservation and surrounding areas by day: Legend Rock, Bull Lake, Wind River Canyon and more. By night, you'll be discovering the festivities of the biggest cultural celebration of the year for the Eastern Shoshone tribe - POWWOW. Witness Grand Entry as all the dancers parade into the circle. Learn the etiquette, hear about the regalia worn by dancers and discover the history woven into powwows. But most of all, feel the heartbeat of the nation, as the drum reverberates across the powwow ground calling The People to dance.

Discover Powwow at NORTHERN CHEYENNE

July 4th - July 6th, 2019

Travel to a tiny reservation tucked away in Montana and discover that POWWOW is one of the central cultural tenets for Cheyenne tribal people. The Fourth of July Powwow is one of the highlights of the Cheyenne year and the powwow grounds come alive as families gather to celebrate and dance together.  During your three days, enjoy tours of the reservation, experience the Sacred Medicine Wheel in the mountains and meet with tribal representatives. Plus, visit the Little Bighorn where combined forces of the Cheyenne and Lakota were victorious against Custer's Seventh Cavalry in 1876.  Learn the etiquette, hear about the regalia worn by dancers and discover the history woven into powwows. But most of all, feel the heartbeat of the nation, as the drum reverberates across the powwow ground calling The People to dance.
